In the Sorrento Valley, "far from the action" of Downtown, this "real find" comes with "spacious" rooms and suites that are probably best for "single business travelers" rather than vacationers; still, respondents say they get lots of "bang for the buck" from amenities like "excellent" beds, a free grocery-shopping service and "ample" complimentary parking; N.B. there's WiFi in public areas, but in the cheaper rooms you must pay for it.

Good towels.
Staff

The empty room next to me had the alarm clock set for 4 am. It took me asking the front desk for 3 days before anyone did anything about it.

The bed was nice.
Few ramps in the curves, unaccommodating to room request.

They did not ask if I had a room location preference. When I asked if I could get a room close to the entrance and on the first floor because of my child, they said they didn't have any rooms on the first floor. They did not accommodate my request for a room close to an entrance, either. They only had ramps onto the sidewalk by the handicap parking spaces. I had to walk 100 feet out of my way with a full stroller and baggage to get into the hotel. The room was tiny with hardly enough room to set up the baby's travel crib. The room wreaked of cleaning chemicals so badly I had to open the window to air it out. To top it off, they did not include stirring straws with the coffee accessories. However, it was a quiet hotel with a large bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the location ideal. The hotel is very large, so if you are not located near an entrance, you have to walk quite a distance. ...read more

Excellent hotel. The overall experience was great. The Food quality, the servers, the bartender, the room, the convenience of the location - it was all there. A great experience and one I will look forward to in the future with my next stay in the San Diego area. ...read more

Charged for all services that should come as part of price.

OK. Local phone service, Internet, etc. all cost extra.

Attractive lobby and convenient location.
The room was not as expected for a 3 star hotel.

The quality of the room was nothing compared to other 3 star hotels in the area. The room felt a bit outdated, starting with the small size television and unappealing carpeting. The maid service was below expectation as well. The hotel is convenient to the businesses in the area, but not within walking distance of restaurants. ...read more

Location.
Room, price, Internet, and cleanliness.

They suggested we upgrade to a suite for 20 dollars a night - which had a full kitchen (it didn't - 3/4 kitchen). The carpet was torn, the bathroom had water damage that was just painted over, the furniture was worn down and uncomfortable. The staff was neither friendly or helpful. Internet - something normally free in hotels like Resident Inn and Comfort Inn was charged for. The hotel was between a 1.5 and 2 star, but was listed as a 3 star. ...read more

Good quality for the price.
No restaurant for weekend dinner.

I thought that by bidding on a 3-star hotel that there would be restaurant service available for dinner - my business is on weekends...and there was no dinner service at the hotel restaurant on Saturday and Sunday and no other restaurants within walking distance. ...read more
